Many scams used on all populations. The elderly are especially volunerable. If you suspect anyone you know is being scammed, abused, or exploited...contact the office of the aging and the local and state police at once.

Because some people try to take advantage of people's feeblemindedness and try to sell them more insurance or goods and service with claims that it will improve or prolong theri lives a bit more. Home improvement scams are common as are scams for an alledged charity.

Congratulations! You have won 2.5 million dollars. Your name was randomly selected, and all you have to do is contact so-&-so to receive your package. Then they ask for $ for insurance, the next day $ for tariffs, etc. No package, nor money ever is received by the elderly...they just lose their hard-earned savings to these scandals who operate outside the U.S., and cannot be traced via the internet. It's dreadful.

well many older people don't do their own shopping so they have care takers. I have heard that some of the care takers will do the shopping but in the process they also buy a lot of other items for themselves. I have also heard that many people will change the wills that older people have to leave them certain amounts of money, a certain item, or their house. there a to many scams to name.
