I have a undergraduate degree in art, anywho she always looked up to me. After school we were both working temp jobs. I continued working temp jobs and she got a job in jewlery through a temp agency, which has ended up turning into her career. Anyways I continued working temp jobs and started taking night classes, I have been taking night classes for about a year and a half, and am currently applying to Graduate schools for Accounting. Anyway, I guess she's really upset that I'm not trying to stick it out until I get a dream job like her anymore. I've tried to explain to her that I want a more stable life, and will do whatever I can to get that. Anyway she hasn't been talking to me since we had this discussion, and it just makes me feel bad I'm the same person I'm just trying to make a better life for myself. I really do love her and care about her as a person, but I feel like she doesn't care about me anymore because I've changed. What should I do?

Am aware that this sounds like a really dumb question. Left school at 16 with basic GSE's etc and now feel the time has come to return to education. Have always thought I couldn't afford to study full time but have been looking at some courses and get the impression that 'full time' isn't what I think of as full time;suspect this is because I've always worked a 60hr + week.
Would be really grateful if somebody could clarify this for me. Thanks.

imagined where I would be in my life right now. ex. steady job. I'm going through steps to change my life like going back to graduate school, but I just feel like a loser sometime. All my friends say I'm too hard on myself, how can I cut myself some slack? I think I'm hard on myself because I'm not happy where I am in my life right now.

I am a second year university student, i guess i can say that i have been a fairly good student all my life until lately. I've had 3 semesters in uni so far, ( am currently in the 4th semester ) and my grades have been going downhill !!! This year has been exceptionally bad, i just feel like i cannot concentrate for long and what i learn today will be forgotten the next day. It don't help when i don't have a good memory ans my course does require a fair bit of memory work. I used to motivate my self through achieving good results, but lately my result have reflected more disappointment that success. I just need something to push me and keep me constantly motivated all the time. I used to be a keen learner, but lately i feel i've adpoted a "don't care" or "whatever !" attitude towards my studies. I am really worried about my next big exam and gearing up for it would be an issue for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, Thanks guys for the help and for the time !

I have to write an answer in 150 words, assumably to show that I can demonstrate the skills of essay writing within the text. Any ideas? (This is at undergrad. and Posgrad. level).

Thanks!

I think exams are stupid. They test nothing but the short-term memory powers of students. They filter out lazy and/or forgetful students, but not nessesarily those who mastered too little on the subject.

"Learn the concept, not memorize" is a scam and a sham. If people are to understand the concept, they MUST Fremember what the facts are. It's not that they can answer Pharmacology questions with "xxxxx is an antagonist of both B1 and B2 type adregenic receptors". They could be punished simply for not remembering, not because they don't know or have no understanding of it.

Speaking of memory powers, after we graduate and work we all resort to books once in a while to refresh our memories. It's not that having photographic memory of everything with 0 percent decay will help you in your job, unless you are in a telemarketing show advertitzing your memory power guidebook. Just take a look at your professors. Are they reciting everything out of memory?

Anyway anyone agrees with me
