he says that IIT is the best engineering college in india ...and one of the best in world ...

Being american i m not sure ...Is he telling truth that his college (IIT)
is the best world over ??????????

To those that are currently in college, how are classes going for you this semester? I would love to know where you guys go and what your majors are. I'm a music education major myself and go to the University of Wisconsin... no I'm not a cheese head, I'm a Minnesotan caught up in this crazy state.

I go to a small unknown HBCU...most of the students here are pretty stupid...the problem is, my philosophy teacher is always accusing me of plagarizing my papers and always accusing me of cheating...my friends told me it's because the white teachers here aren't used to a black male student who is well-read and articulate...I'm tired of him accusing me of cheating and grading me hard on tests just because I know what I'm talking about, and everybody else has the IQ of a screwdriver....

I've corrected his German before... and I was even able to figure out what "pantheism" means just by breaking down the words, "pan", "the" and "ism." He said somebody must've told me, and I said, "No...I just broke the word down to by its Latin terms," and he didn't believe me...how can I convince this guy that there ARE smart black guys and we're not all concerned about rims and white T shirts and Adidas flip-flops???

I go to a small HBCU...and sometimes I feel that I'm one of the smartest people here...or at least I have the most common sense...it seems to me that 99.99% of the people here are dumb as a bag of nails.....but they're idiots, so teachers go easy on them...but good students like me, we're graded a lot harder, so school is 10x harder for us...and when I try to bring up important issues...nobody cares...all they want to talk about is Jennifer Lopez and cars and the club and weed...........................I'm angry most of the time, too....and I get made fun of because I'm not out hanging out on campus, getting drunk.....getting high.....but yet these are the people who have good grades because the teachers GIVE them grades...and girls only go for the dumb-asses, so we'll just leave that subject alone....has anybody else felt they were smarter than everyone else?

Both having fun and hanging with friends became more important, and spending time with my family or doing my homework became superfluous.

I am writing a personal narravtive for Compostion. These are my problems with the sentance that need to be solved:

- I really lke the word "superfluous", but I am not sure if I have used it correctly.

- Is it parallel? Its really important because it is emphisized in the grading.

-Am I using unnecssary or forgeting necessary commas? This also is very important.

i have been looking all over and cannot find this answer...if there is a mutation in a dna sequence....the mutation is glutamic acid and valine......would it be a sinlent mutation a mis-sense mutation or a nonsense mutation...why? PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I am intersted in becoming a fashion designer, but most of the schools i look at only offer A.A degrees, even the prestigious FIDM in L.A. Is this all that is nessicary? is that all that you need to become a in demand fashion designer? I thought you would have to go for a bacholors, but not many of any schools offer this.

I'm only a freshman in high school, but I'm already looking into colleges. I really want to go to University of Michigan. Here is Florida, it is required in order to go to college to have at least 2 full credits of any foreign language. Does anybody know if that is the same for University of Michigan? I want to know this because I want to know if I need to take a foreign language (something besides Spanish, preferably) or just stop now and do something better. Thank You.

ok, so heres the sitch...I'm a pretransfer college student & have 2 passions...stage performance & environment/wildlife(marine but also in general) conservation. Thing is, I could go to csu northridge & be immersed in stage performance, right there by hollywood where it's all at, but they have no conservation program. I could also go to csu humboldt, which is on the opposite side of the state & get a stellar conservation program but I'd be performing for a bunch of trees basically. I need help in deciding which one to choose.plz no "follow your heart", "do what you want/think is best", "pray about it", "whatever makes you happiest" type answers 'coz I've been over & over & OVER this & am equally torn. I've even done campus/counsellour visits & STILL can't decide. plz help, thx

I'm applying to Northwestern this fall and i wanted an essay that was going to be truly unique and somewhat humorous I started writing my essay about the significane of beards- what they can tell about a person and my own personal experiences of having a beard. Later I was reading the US News College Handbook 2007. Inside there was an article from the dean of admissions at Rice who said that one of the best essays she ever read was about a man telling how growing a beard affected his relationships. I don't know what to do, I really liked my idea but if the dean at Rice publicly wrote this in a book then it doesn't seem to be an unkown topic among schools. I dont want Northwestern to think I ripped the idea from the book. What do I do?

In college the books are so damn expensive so what I mean is that in the college library they have a big copying machine & I want to know if I should copy all my books that I should buy at full price in a copying machine. For example my history book is 500 pages & cost $120 but on the copying machine to copy a page is 5 cents so if I copy all 500 pages at 5 cents each then I can copy the whole book for $25 ($0.05 times 500=$25) Is this illegal or can I go to jail for it or should I totally do it to save big bucks on book fees. The only problem is that it would take an hour or longer to copy a 500 page book depending on how fast the machine copys each page.
