In a debate with Charles Darwin, Bishop Wilberforce said the world was made at a certain day and minute about 4004 BC. IOW the world is about 6000 years old. Pleople who believe this are called Young earth creationists. There are also creationist who believe that before there was a sun, was that the 3rd day of creation, long ages went by, or each day was really a long long time, not 24 hours. GoTo: www Answersingenesis.com for complete detail on your question
Most modern christians focus on Christ's message of love and avoid the poinless fight with the now universal scientific worldview which confident can show the world is way way older than the bible says.
There is scientific agreement that the earth is about 6 Billion years old and our universe is about 15 billion years old. Science has varied and extensive evidence to support it's belief the other is based on the idea that the bible is literally true word by word. This is obviously untrue as the Bible is filled with contradictions and thus could not be true literally. Do a search on Contradictions in the Bible and read the details there and think it through for yourself.

Well acccording to the bible this is how things happened:
Day 1 God made light. Then divided it into day and night
Day 2 God made the sky and separated the waters and made land and sea
Day 3 God made the plants
Day 4 God made the sun and the moon and the stars
Day 5 God made the birds of the air and the fish in the sea
Day 6 God made the land creatures. Then he made man in his own image to rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and the livestock. God saw that it was good.
Day 7 God had finished his work and he rested.
As regards an exact date for all this, I just don't know. The Jewish religion count their years from the date they believe creation occurred. Therefore, 2006 is the year in 5767 in that religion.

ACCORDING TO THE CHRISTIAN MYTH and doctors of theology, it was 4,000 years before christ was born, meaning 6,000 or so years ago.
They did this by counting back the years of the people and the stories narrated in the bible.
If you're doing a study on the bible or theology, then I don't see why this should not be a serious question. IF you are going to believe that it was so, and that god created the world 6,000 years ago, then I pitty you.

Well he took 7 days to finish it, so with the sabbath starting on a friday night, it must have been at 4.45pm, first friday of the jewish year 6000 years ago. That would give him 15 minutes or so to have a cup of tea and light the candles.
