I go to a small HBCU...and sometimes I feel that I'm one of the smartest people here...or at least I have the most common sense...it seems to me that 99.99% of the people here are dumb as a bag of nails.....but they're idiots, so teachers go easy on them...but good students like me, we're graded a lot harder, so school is 10x harder for us...and when I try to bring up important issues...nobody cares...all they want to talk about is Jennifer Lopez and cars and the club and weed...........................I'm angry most of the time, too....and I get made fun of because I'm not out hanging out on campus, getting drunk.....getting high.....but yet these are the people who have good grades because the teachers GIVE them grades...and girls only go for the dumb-asses, so we'll just leave that subject alone....has anybody else felt they were smarter than everyone else?

It is possible to get good grades and be smarter than other people, and still end up living in a cardboard box because you have no social skills and the emotional IQ of a loaf of bread.

It definitely sounds like you are in the wrong place. So, ummm, why don't you get out? I'm serious. Transfer your butt out of there as of next semester. Get out of town. Move it!

You can find a school where you have better classmates, teachers that are both fun and challenging, and a real future.

One thing you realize when you go to a good school, is that no matter how smart you are there is somebody down the hall or in the next row who is smarter. So, you have to work harder than them to keep up. If you want to run with the thoroughbreds, don't hang with the mules!

No, because no matter how smart you think you are, there is ALWAYS someone right around the corner smarter than you.

ALWAYS.

Don't ever forget that, lest you get too caught up in yourself and miss lifes opportunities for learning.

The circumstances right in front of your nose are deceitful in respect to the grand scheme of things.

Example: Driving.

When you are taught to drive, you are instructed to not look at the road right over the hood of your car, but to focus or aim to a point far down the road, and your natural instincts will automatically steer you there. If you look just over the hood, your driving becomes wreckless.

Such is life my man.

OMG YES! I feel like that everyday. I'm in AP classes, but the other kids in it are still a lot more stupid. I want to go to a really good college while everyone else is just planning to go to the state university. And no one cares about what's happening in the world, and no one watches the news! It's ridiculous. All they want to do is bang each other, get high and drunk! I hate it because I feel I don't belong there! That's why I can't wait to go to college!

Its funny how my students that really think they are really smarter than everyone else, don't work as hard, don't do classwork or homework, then fail from lack of assignments. I also think its funny how the same kids will do better than average on pre tests at the beginning of the year and take the same test at the end and do worse than the kids that worked hard all year long. Funny... watch the ego, it hurts you in the end.

See a therapist or better yet be around other people whos like you. Boring, a complainer, and have nothing good to say about anybody anyways. Sorry, but you sound pretty bitter and maybe if you lighten up people with the same interest would want to come around you. Until then give the pot heads a break, you don't have to do what they do but you don't have the right to jugde them either.

Somebody is a little full of himself. but if all you can find are druggies and jlo fans, maybe you should switch schools. You are smart not to hang with the drugheads and drunks. Good Luck.

Yeah I feel like that all the time (but about different stuff). It's sad because to fit in you have to "pretend" to be like them or think like them when your not on board.

Well just hang in there because one day you'll be making the big $$ while they'll still be doing the same stuff as now.
