hi if you have one and are a first year student, were you displeased that you only have a £500 overdraft? If you had more or less of an overdraft, were you expecting more than you got? Thanks for the help

Okay, I would like to go to either Yale (first choice) or Brown (I'm currently a high school junior). I know that it will be difficult to get in, but I'm also worried about finances. I know that both have need-blind admissions, but even if I were admitted, I doubt I could pay.
My family makes less than $20,000 a year (there are four of us). Many people have said that I could apply for financial aid, but I don't know if I would get it. I am searching for scholarships, and I am planning on getting a job about a month after I turn 16 (I am planning on getting my permit first). Is there anything else I can do? Do I have a shot at financial aid or any other type of assistance? If worst comes to worst, I am sure I can go to a community or state college, but I don't want to give up just yet.

Thanks so much!

I will be starting school full-time soon and i live w/ a roommate. I'm trying to cut costs everywhere in my life so I will be able to go to school but looking into the near future I'm just gonna put myself in so much debt trying live and pay bills in general. The school i'm going to does not have a campus you can live at. Does anyone have any good advice as to where I may be able to get cheap loans or grants not for the actual college expenses but for living expenses while I'm in college. I'm 22, I have established a little bit of good credit but my parents can't help. Anyone with good suggestions- i would love to hear! thanks!

First of all I have a total of 16,000 out in student loans. I cannot get grants because I make too much money (yeah right). I want to attend a university. It will cost me about 8,000 a year. For me to complete my degree, I am looking at 4 years. So this means I am going to need to have around 40,000 or so to finish my degree. I am an undergrad. I have been told there is a limit as to how much in loans an undergrad can have out. I think I remember being told approx. 25,000. If this is true I can only pay for one year. How can I get more money to go to school? What other loans are avaiable for me? I have no parents, and grants are not an option for me. What should I do? What are my options?

Hey ,

I'm an international student and I want to study in the states next summer. I was looking for ways to pay my tuition and all the other bills.... Then I saw the site from Global Student Loan Corporation , and as an international student I do not need a co-signer. What do you think ? Is this a safe opportunity to pay the bills ?

I would be very happy if someone could give me some advice.

Thanks in advance,

J.Z

I am going to be attending a state university this spring and I did not fill out my FAFSA for the 2006-2007 school year. I am 21, have no credit and I don't know anyone that does have good credit to co-sign on a student loan for me. Are there any other options for me or am I going to be eating the bill this year?

I was told to "look into it" by a couple people who said that S.S. pays for the care of an elderly person, even if it's a relative and it would be done without payment otherwise. Anyone know about this?
