I need to get a student loan but I don't have a cosigner. My parents won't sign for me so I need to get one by myself. Since I am only 18 and don't have a credit history yet I am not having much luck. Any suggestions on where I can get a loan by myself?

I already received all the grants available to me and I have a Stafford load. I am still $8,000 short though.

YEP, you dont need to get a cosigner if you get a STAFFORD LOAN via your school's Financial Aid or Business or Bursar Office. BELIEVE ME, you DONT WANT YOU PARENTS TO COSIGN FOR YOU. I RECOMMEND THAT YOU DONT GET A LOAN, (THEY FOLLOW YOU FOREVER).....

Apply for scholarships and GRANTS. See if your state has State Grants (most do) and see if you school offers Scholarships for being apart of the school's newspaper, dance team, sport or other activity. If it's too late for that, just LOOK FOR LOW INTEREST LOANS with 1% interest.

GOOD LUCK

Untraditional private loans, or promissory notes.

i think that if you join a bank and have good credit with them they might give you that loan that you need
