The college I want to go to has to have $650 enclosed with the application. Should I submit a FAFSA first and get approved by them or does FAFSA require that I already be enrolled for the school. I also need to get a stafford loan so I need some advice on which order I need to do this. I know for sure that I need to be approved by FAFSA before I can get a Stafford loan but do I need to be accepted by the college before or after I do this?

I had a loan several years ago through my university, basicly like a line of credit. The creditor is listed as XXXXX State University. The loan went unpaid (I know shame on me) and went to a collection agency. I filed Bankruptcy in 2005 and the Collection agency is telling me that this loan is still owed because it is a student loan. I understand that Guaranteed student loans, such as Stafford, Plus, etc. are backed by the government and not dischargeable, but what about this one? Thanks

I'm a junior at my school and i'm preparing for college. I'm hoping to get accepted at a cal state, but money is a real big issue. I have a parent who isn't willing to help me get into college. (Sad huh?) I want to know if anyone can help me find a website or know about any type of programs that can help me earn a scholarship for my school. I'm trying to get my G.E.'s first. Then i'll worry about my major or minor later. So, hopefully someone out there can tell me more information...

My mother passed away in 1998 and my stepmother passed away in 2004 from cancer. Are there any scholarships or grants that I might quailfy for? My dad owns his own business so when calculating my financial qualifications, everyone counts what the business brings home, not what he makes. On top of that, he won't co-sign for and student loans. I really wanna go to school and further my education and would really apprechiate any help you can offer. Thanks.

My boyfriend lives in the UK and I live in the US... I wanted to know if there is anyway I can get some financial aid to finish my college there in the UK? I want to be a dental hygienist, but schooling there is about 20,000 pounds a year when it's much less here. The problem is I really want to be with him, but I don't know if I could get my schooling paid for there, and he wouldn't be able to stay with me here in the states until I'm done with school because he is joining the Air force... It's complicated, So Can I get aid studying and getting a degree there?

Being caught up in so many things, I did not study for the SAT test AT ALL and was sick while taking the test (lucky me). So, I paid the price and got a 1740. =(

I go to a top-20 high school in the U.S., with an average of a 2.83 GPA (average of all years of high school up to current). I have worked at the same place for two years. But I don't think this is enough to get accepted into my desired private college (a decent one, but it isn't super prestigious) let alone get a scholarship or grant. Should I retake it?

I've gotten accepted in to college. Now I have to pay for it all. I've looked for scholarships but it seems to me that I just don't quailfy for any of them. So if anyone knows of actual scholarships for writers, that would be great.
