There are six sources for scholarships and financial aid out there. Financial aid is need based and the package depends on income and resources of the family (undergraduate student) and your resources if a graduate student. A scholarship is dependent upon a selection committee on selecting a person based on an interview or your written essay. I recommend applying to many scholarships because you do not know how many will select you to receive it. There are a lot of people who apply for them. I recommend start searching now.

First, there is FAFSA.ed.gov. It helps you tap into need based financial aid from both your college and the federal government. You apply for it in the January or February before the September semester you start.

Second, the state has need based financial aid. It can be located via searching the state government website.

Third, if you are in high school, they have a list of local scholarships offered by companies and organizations for its students.

Fourth, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for your college major, ethnicity, and religion. There are some college majors that have scholarships available.

Fifth, your college's financial aid website has a list of private scholarsihps offered from companies and organizations.

Finally, there are free membership scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. I recommend joining several of these because the selection of scholarships can range on how many are listed and which ones.

Good luck!
