I wrote an email to my english professor asking him if our essay part of our final was cancelled since the college is closed today. English is my second language so Im not sure what he meant when he answered me this:
I have had to cancel it.
Does that mean that the essay is cancelled?? Or does it mean that we have to go to class unless HE is the one who says its cancelled????

I have just completed my first quarter of college, and my GPA is a 1.0, down from a 3.8 in high school.

I only earned 6 credit hours out of the 15 I was carrying.

I have two quarters left.

How can I bring my GPA back up? What grades do I need to get in the next two quarters?

Should I just drop out of college?

If it helps, I go to the University of Cincinnati.

Please, any advice?

I am an instructional tutor to a group or class of high school special ed. students. My co-workers and I have this one problem with this one child, she has a BAD hygiene problem. The begining of the school year was ok, she was bathed, I'd say at least 2 times a week. My mother knows this student's aunt and she told her that the girl's mother has got a new boyfriend and neglects her kids (child abuse?) and her entire family is upset with the girl's mother. I hate to be mean but the girl BADLY stinks and we the tutors don't know how to break it to her mother that she needs to bathe her as her mother seems like a sweet person. Our boss is out for a week and I don't think we can wait that long as this has been going on for 3 weeks. Any professional advise? I feel bad for the girl too, as she is not all that capable to think or speak. We can set up a parent-teacher conference but like I said our boss is out. Don't accept the child until she is bathed or how do we break it to her mother?

1.Technically, when a person wants to check grammar or verbiage on a statement like this:

“Although me, and the man sitting right behind me, had the best view.”

2.Would you break it into its parts to make sure it is correct; like:

“Although, me had the best view”
And
“Although, the man sitting right behind me had the best view.”

3.Then, see here that “me” is incorrect, and it should be:

“Although, I had the best view.”

4.And, ultimately:

“Although I, and the man sitting right behind me, had the best view.”

5. Or could it be “myself”

In my other question they responded "just goto college". Well thats easy for them because there parents could afford it. Even at a small community college I cant get enough financial aid to pay, and the university in my town won't accept financial aid and everyone there is a total snob.

1. exam - test
The major problem with (exam/testing) is that the results are not always accurate

2. I have an opinion - I'm of the opinion
(I have an opinion/I'm of the opinion) that people should take responsiblity for their actions

3. ban-prohibit / all-every
In my opinion, smoking should be (banned/prohibited) in
(all/every) public places

I question whether these sets of words have same meaning.
It would be no problem to navtive speaker, you, but not to English learners.
There is no doubt that someone says "It depends on what you want to talk", but it is not enough answer for me.
In that case, to illustrate your point more clearly, give me examples plz.

thanks.

I finish with my degree in April, I am suppose to get a pell dispursment of 1700 in NOV and then one in march. Instead of giving me my pell this month they took it and paid for the rest of my classes and are going to give me everything left over in march. Can they do this? i thought pell went directly to me, not to pay for the classes themselves, thats what my student loans are for. my computer is breaking down and I was looking at this money to get me a new one.
