1. exam - test
The major problem with (exam/testing) is that the results are not always accurate

2. I have an opinion - I'm of the opinion
(I have an opinion/I'm of the opinion) that people should take responsiblity for their actions

3. ban-prohibit / all-every
In my opinion, smoking should be (banned/prohibited) in
(all/every) public places

I question whether these sets of words have same meaning.
It would be no problem to navtive speaker, you, but not to English learners.
There is no doubt that someone says "It depends on what you want to talk", but it is not enough answer for me.
In that case, to illustrate your point more clearly, give me examples plz.

thanks.

2.According to me the second one definitely can be used interchangeably,

3a. Banned and prohibited cannot be used interchangeably because there use is more on contextual base, we normally say that film is banned (and not prohibited) and we also say that smoking is prohibited in that zone (and not banned), I think we use banned in much bigger context.

3b.We can use all/every interchangeably in the above sentence provided we remove the alphabet "s" from "places" if we use "every"

1. I am not too sure about this one but if we use "taking (or giving) test" instead of testing then I guess we could use both interchangeably.

Most of these words have the same or similar meanings, but it all depends on the sentence and the usage of the words.

well they could mean the same thing but sometimes we use them in different cases

1. the major problem with testing is that results are not always accurate.

2. i'm of the opinion that people should take responsibility for their actions

3. in my opinion, smoking should be prohibited in all public places.

the words have similar meanings but they are used differently depending on what you are talking about

ex:
you wouldnt say smoking should be banned, you say smoking should be prohibited (although both words are similar)

1. Testing. Exams are only one form of test, and it is all types test that are possibly inaccurate.
2. I'm of the opinion. It is a specific opinion.
3. banned or prohibited, doesn't really matter.
All public places. you can't say every public places, you'd have to say place. Hope this helps.
