Aunt Alexandra looked across the room at me and smiled. She looked at a tray of cookies on the table and nodded at them. I carefully picked up the tray and watched myself walk to Mrs. Merriweather. With my very best company manners, I asked her if she would have some. After all, if Aunty could be a lady at a time like this, so could I.

Not really, because it would be like, a starting point for more drama. 7 books of Harry Potter was enough, and I'm okay with the fact that he didn't die (though it would have been nice), but having Voldemort show remorse would be too much. I just wanted the story to be over, and Voldemort dying like he did was the only way that part of the story could finish.

When she offers her arm to (is it Boo? I forget the name -- the reclusive man up the street) so she can walk him home from her house. She recognizes that it would be incorrect to hold his hand, as he is an adult, not a child; she instead offers her arm, as a lady would if she were being escorted.

It would take a little more interpretation from you, but how about when she recognizes Boo in Jem's room and greets him? How would that show that she is becoming an adult. I think your teacher would accept "adult" for "lady".
