You're lucky I'm bored as hell and enjoy simple word problems, because your little "bet" is hardly motivating.
You should really be doing these yourself, but like I said - I kind of like doing them.

1.) John's coins = x
Mary's coins = 2x

2x + x = 105
3x = 105
x = 35
2x = 2(35) = 70

ANSWER: 70


2.) Team A = x
Team B = x + 18

x + x + 18 = 144
2x = 126
x = 63

ANSWER: 63pts


3.) 38 - 21 = 17
17/21 = 0.81 or 81%

ANSWER - Marked it up 81%


4.) 3/10 = 6/20
1/10 = 2/20
1/5 = 4/20

6/20+2/20+4/20 = 12/20 = 3/5

ANSWER: 3/5
