If I want to be financially secure I will have to wait to go to college until I'm 22. My credit is bad and I hear that it takes 3 years for it to recover. In the mean time, I am living in my own apartment and going to work. The one main issue is that I am afraid that I will loose my drive to go to college and also I feel so insecure that all of my friends are now sophomores in college and I haven't even started yet. I want to go to college sooner but I need to build my credit and save up money. ( I don't have parents that can financially support me.) What can help me keep my drive? How can I stop these insecurities of not going to college?

What's the origin (etymology) of the term "bye" (when a team advances in a tournament without playing an opponent)? The word seems strange and doesn't seem to have any basis other than someone just making the word up.

Recently I went on a 10 day trip with school and this one teacher was always comforting me when I was sick or homesick.

One day after lunch I felt like I was going to spew up all my lunch and went to find a teacher to ask if I could sit at the front of the bus (we had to travel to the next town we were goin too)in case I was sick. I found a teacher and it just happened to be the nicest teacher on the trip and my favourite. I asked her and she said yes. Then she asked why? I just started crying because I felt so sick and usually it was my mother who comforts me when I am sick. She gave me a cuddle and comforted me.

It was 2 days before we went home and the same teacher walked into my room and told us it was lights out. When she walked in I was on the phone to my parents balling my eyes out. She then sat with me for about 10 minutes comforting and cuddling me. The same thing happened the next night. She had also seen me crying because I was homesick on about the third day but she..

I tried to graph that, but it came out with a line. I think it's because my graphing calculator expanded the top to (x+2)(x-2), and then the (x-2)'s cancel out.

So, how would you graph this question? I need to find the domain, range, intercepts, and asymptotes. All i know is that the asymptote is 2.

For a long time, I've wanted to teach as an adjunct professor on a part-time basis. I'd like for someone with experience in this area to tell me, based on my description of my situation, whether this sounds like a realistic option for me.

I have an M.S. in Computer Engineering, and I've worked for five years as a full-time software engineer. I have no formal teaching experience. My goal to become an adjunct professor is more for personal fulfillment than for money or advancement, so I don't care about what it pays or whether the position is prestigious. However, since I intend to continue my full-time job, I would only be available for teaching night classes. If I got to pick, I would prefer to teach a class in programming or computer engineering.

So, does that sound reasonable? Or is there no demand for people in my circumstances?

enrolled into a master's program and passed/completed all required major and elective courses for the degree, but did not get it, because I was disqualified and kicked out for not maintaining a 3.0 GPA by my last quarter. I had a 2.85. My grades were all B's, except 3 C's that I got. I am truly bummed, and my administrators in the program are not going to let me reenroll to fix my GPA. They are firm in their stance. I've done several variations on resume.

Is it good or bad that I have a cousin that is going to WashU? Should I tell WashU that my cousin's enrolled? because I kind of want to go too, and would like to get everything I can to try to get in.

On the other hand, my cousin has had a bad reputation and has always gotten in trouble and gotten on "the bad side" with teachers. To put it simply, he's been a bad apple.

Considering THAT, should I inform the interview-ee or the admissions office at WashU that my cousin would be currently enrolled as a senior when I enter college there?
Would that help my chances of getting accepted by WashU?

Thanks,
and if you have any other tips concerning college admissions, it would all be GREATLY appreciated.
