Someone told me that colleges have formal dances like high school such as homecoming, military ball, etc. I just started college and don't really have a good idea of all the activities yet so I wonder about this. Currently I' am attending KCK community college.

u usually have to be involved in a formal club like a sorority or frat or something or be dating a varsity football player or something. If you're able to go you'll hear about them.

Some groups like bacchus or pride have informal formal dress dances for fun, but nothing to the scale that the frats and sors have.

Some do, some don't. I'm not sure a community college would. Where I went to school, we had several a year. Most were very well attended.

We used to have one, but it was cancelled after two years of misbehavior. Right now, it is the Greeks and the clubs which put on formal dances.

Depends on the college. Mine didn't have anything like that, but some of the student groups did - especially the greek system.
