hey there, i have to do a persuasive speech for my speech communication class and so i'm really clueless about what topic to go with. I mean it has to be informative and yet persuasive at the same time. And so, i don't want to choose some overused topic like euthanasia, or ufo's or abortion... boring.. need some new topic thats probably an on-going, UP-TO-DATE debatable issue..any ideas people?!

can anybody EXPLAIN how to answere the problem but not answere it? How do you find what z is
3/4 (z-6) = 12
Here is how I did it (but its wrong)
3/4 z -(-4 1/2)=12
-4 1/2 -4 1/2
3/4 z = 7 1/2
divided by 3/4 divided by 3/4
z =10

So yeah, I love films, and I even attend a local film school. We have this screenwriting class, and we are supposed to come up with a magnificent three-act story for a short film. This is not to ask you what to write, I realize that’s my job.

I never thought it could be so difficult for me, I simply can’t think of anything…I feel awful. Everyone’s got their little stories and I’ve got nothing. I think maybe, if I can’t do this then I shouldn’t be in film school. Do you have any advice on how to handle this situation?

anyone wanting to join in a prayer b4 the school day starts is welcome to come to her room from 7:15-7:30 in the morning. I believe this is a violation of church and state regulations. Even though it is only for those who choose to come...it is being held on school grounds. Am I correct in my thinking??

On this forum I once belonged too, every word even a word that wasn't offensive like Cockney for example would be changed into spoons.

Wierd and I have still have no idea why they chose the word spoons for.

that they needed to graduate? I still need 3 specific classes and 5 electives. I have a year to take these classes, so that shouldn't be a problem, but i can't stop wondering what's gonna happen if some of the classes I need overlap. What happens then? Can I take it at another college??

If a school says 80% of the people scored between 540 and 690, that means exactly what it says, right? My question then is if I get a 550, I'm considering scoring in the range of 80% of applicants? Schools usually list an average which is much higher, for example from above 650. So if I score below the average, but above the lowest score of the 80% range, what kind of position would I be in? For all the schools I'm applying to my GPA, work experience, etc. will be very good.

I am writing a novel, but want some form of quote at the beginning.

The novel is about a guy who has something inside of him that has forced him to commit an evil act (Before the novel begins). At the beginning of the book he isolates himself from the rest of humanity and refuses to form any type of connections with anyone. The connections, though, are forced upon him when he meets someone and most of the story is about the guy accepting that you can not run from the human race and he can not escape the thing inside of him.

I'm a senior in high school. I've decided to go the community college route, and I have chosen my major.

Well, sort of. I don't know if I should go to Woodbury (which is fifteen minutes away) and get a bachelor's in accounting or to UCLA (which I will probably have to dorm, since I live in Tujunga) and get a bachelor's in business economics.

I plan on applying to law school after my bachelors.

Which school is better? What exactly can I do with an economics degree?
How prestigious is Woodbury, exactly, for accounting?

Should I go to Woodbury accounting or UCLA biz economics??

I'm a business graduate in Finance, currently in a great banking career and about to wrap up my second degree, this one in Management. Great stuff.

But if I could do college all over again I could've easily also gone with a Science degree (in Physics) because I love real-world science and the idea of being on a huge research team working on a big project. Great stuff too.

So if you could do it all over again what would your new major be and why? It'd be interesting to hear some of the responses.

In those college rankings, the same colleges are always at the top of the list (Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Stanford, MIT, etc...) When I looked a little closer at the stats, it seems that the greatest factor was endowment size. The smaller your school's endowment, the lower it likely was. I had some great professors at my school, which was a quality state university. Some of them had their degrees from Harvard, and some from lesser known places. Just because they went to Harvard, didn't mean they were the best. In fact, those professors I thought weren't quite as good. So is it just the size of the endowment that determines those rankings?
