And, why is it a dangerous and controversial, but common approach to dealing with agression? I am a first year teacher (blah, blah, blah) who tends to want to punish my students at the drop of a hat when aggression is shown. This is even when I know several of my students will punch my mouth loose, throw chairs, etc. Please help me deal with these students agression as I do not want to send them over the "edge."

My first grade team decided to ability group our classes for a 45 minute period each day so that the kids can recieve on-level instruction. Each teacher will take one of the groups. I got the lowest group and I really want to do everything that I can to help these kiddos. Anyone have any tips or ideas of things I can do to get these kids started reading and to make it fun at the same time? I know the choral reading, the phoneme segmentation games, reading to them, etc. I am looking for some really innovative and exciting things to do! Thanks in advance.

i'm a new graduate and it's really tough. my coworkers expect so much from me since i just graduated but what they don't understand is 2 yrs of college doesn't show the whole picture of how it is to work in a daycare! on top of working with children and coworkers, I had to deal with parents too!
Do you think it's worth it?
I've cried so many times at work already and I've been working for just a few months.

The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program assists students at participating California community colleges in transferring to UCSD. TAG students enter into a contract that specifies requirements they must satisfy at a community college and guarantees admission to the UCSD college and term of choice, but not necessarily to an oversubscribed major. Admission to highly selective majors, such as certain engineering majors, is not guaranteed.

Does it guarantee admission into ucsd for sure? If you get rejected to an oversubscribed major are you still in the college but without a major or do you have to reapply

I feel like I have no friends, that I'm failing school--and I have to put WAYYY too much effort.
well, the thing is, the work itself really isn't a whole lot, but I'm very slow and I've been feeling sluggish lately so I have to stay up VERY late to finish it. Which is making things even worse, cuz I get like, 3 hours of sleep each night. But I'm not taking very hard classes so there isn't a lot of work. I'm just depressed, so that makes me feel slow. During my freshman year of college I had plenty of friends and people to hang around with. I hung out, talked, played video games, and went to the cafe with people daily. On weekends I went out to parties and went to baseball games and had a good time for the most part. But after my freshman year I made the difficult decision to transfer colleges because I received admission at a top university. I went knowing it might be hard for a transfer student to fit in. My worst fear came true. The first few days I met some people (other transfers) but after a couple of days I realized these people weren't right for me, and I lost touch with those few acquaintances. I joined a club, I got a job, I say hello to people in class and the hallways, I sit in the communal lounge, but with this contact i still can't make companions who i can go out with and such. Besides the first weekend I haven't gone out on weekends at all. I am forced to stay in my room. It's a month into school what can I do? Help
