is "do the math"= "do the calculation"?

If I say "We have to be finished with everything by 5pm. Is it grammatically incorrect to say "We have to be finished everything by 5pm." ? Is this one of those used but not exactly in the rules things? What is the rule exactly.

I am currently going into my Junior year of High School. And I want to become a Culinary student in college, planning ahead of course. I want to major in the Culinary arts and possibly minor in some form of other art.
I also want to go to the Art Institute of Cincinnati.

Do you have any other suggestions of good Culinary schools?

And what can I do to become the best candidate for a Culinary school?

school has just ended. I'm a sofhmore in high school. i promised my parents that i will get all A's n B's but i have 2 C's..which is a 74 n a 77...n da rest are 3 B's n 1 A..i take 2 honor class n 2 cp..n spanish 2..n computer apps...is that i failed my parents n now is da summer n there gonna be mad at me n think i'm a failure in life :(

i asked my teacher if i can still pass her course... instead of giving me a straight yes or no answer she decides to say:

"You completed 13 out of 26 of the assignments.
You did very well on the assignments that you did submit,
but unfortunately, there are 13 assignments that you are getting
zero on because you did not do them. This course work is worth
70% of your mark and your exam is worth 30%."

^ I'm Gonna Be STUDYING HARD, JUST So I can get a really HIGH score on the upcoming final exam...but even with my high mark on the exam can i still PASS the course?
****(Passing Mark is 50%+)******

On my exam i plan to get 90%-100%, i know i can do it too.
