When you use e.g. or i.e. do you need to put a comma afterwards?

e.g., blue, black, red, pink
e.g. blue, black, red, pink

i.e., one, two, three, four
i.e. one, two, three, four

On those examples, it looks like the first one is correct. Am I right? If so, explain. Or, if not, please explain.

Thank you!

We are anonymous, but shouldn't we show the same courtesy as if we weren't anonymous?
If we were dealing with someone face to face and they wrote out something misspelling a word, would any of us say,"Learn to spell." I have seen things like that.

Also doesn't our religions teach us charity toward people who might have handicaps, visual, learning etc."

In Britain the rules of spelling and grammar are not always the same as the U. S. That is why someone got so angry and ask a question about spelling.

In Britain they think of words like nation, country, state etc as plural words since they comprise many people and they use verbs are, were, etc.

In the U. S. we think of them as single entities even though they comprise many people and we use the verbs is, was, etc.

Aren't good manners more important than good spelling and correct grammar?

( I Have a 3.6-3.7 GPA and take honors classes, and do extra curriculars, so will taking only 2 years of a language hurt me?!?!)

University of Virginia (and many other schools in virginia) offer guaranteed transfer admission if you get at least a 3.4 gpa at a community college in virginia. Does taking this route look bad in the post-graduate world... ie i want to go to get my master's degree from a prestigious university... or do post graduate admissions officers only care about where you graduate?

I am starting college in the fall and desperatly want to become an english/creative writing professor. I will probably go to a small 4 year public university near me (because it is all i can afford) called the University of West Georgia. I was wondering if most professors that teach at 4 year schools have degrees at real prestigious schools like harvard, yale, berkeley, etc... (because that is the way it seems) or do plenty of them go to smaller, public schools
thanks

I am in the 11th grade.
My grades: My GPA ranges from a B to an A-
In school I do not do any sports, but I am in the French Club, the Book Club, The Bio-Chem Club, Environmental Club, and National Honor Society. Also I am in a school club that opposses using drugs. I have also been volunteering at the local hospital since the summer vacation before 11th grade and I plan on volunteering this summer and during 12th grade. In the 9th and 10th grade I took almost all honors classes and in the 11th and 12th grade I have taken the highest level courses I can take. I also have a job at the library. And eventhough I was born in America, I have been speaking Hindi since I was little.

So...Do you think I could get into these colleges:
-Boston University
-Boston College
-Columbia University
-Cornell University
-New York University
-University of Pennsylvania

What else can I do to improve my chances of getting into a good school?
Also, what else is on a college aplication?

I called St. John's and they basically told me that becoming a pharmacist is out of the question if im not in the pre-pharm program (6 year program)... this is because i would need a degree in pharmacy. This makes no sense to me.. Why is pharmacy so hard to get into and going pre-med is so easy. I wanted to know; can't I just major in chemistry or toxicology? And if I can.. How can I go about doing this? How long will it take? Will it be extra hard? Will this prepare me for the PCAT? And will a pharmacy school take me in with a degree in chemistry? (Can I have some answers from pharmacy students, pharmacists, friends or family members of pharmacists)

The term "good dream" doesn't have the same dramatic effect as "nightmare" you know what I mean? It should be something with more punch in it. Are you OK with words like good and nice to describe the opposite of NIGHTMARE? While we are on the subject, the word "nightmare" is a noun yes? "Nightmarish" is an adjective, all though people commonly say "today was a nightmare" instead of "today was nightmarish" so shouldn't both variations be considered adjectives? Lastly I think of the word nightmare as a verb also, am I incorrect in thinking this?
I'm done now I hope this question is not a NIGHTMARE (ish) for you. lol
