i've never heard that before. but i'll tell you how it strikes me.
its seem like a hindered heart would be sombody who's having difficulty with their feelings or are blinded by them, and causes some sort of "calamity" with themselves or others.

Calamity is a horrible loss or tragic event. Hindered heart is the heart that for some reason cannot fully let go so I would translate it like this: "A horrible heart break for one who was afraid to love.

it's what you get when you suppress your feelings just like if you would try to get over someone whom you really love. When you regret the things that you've done, it is also like a calamity because if you haven't hindered; change might have happened.
