We are anonymous, but shouldn't we show the same courtesy as if we weren't anonymous?
If we were dealing with someone face to face and they wrote out something misspelling a word, would any of us say,"Learn to spell." I have seen things like that.

Also doesn't our religions teach us charity toward people who might have handicaps, visual, learning etc."

In Britain the rules of spelling and grammar are not always the same as the U. S. That is why someone got so angry and ask a question about spelling.

In Britain they think of words like nation, country, state etc as plural words since they comprise many people and they use verbs are, were, etc.

In the U. S. we think of them as single entities even though they comprise many people and we use the verbs is, was, etc.

Aren't good manners more important than good spelling and correct grammar?

This question was for the Religion and Spirituality Board but got sent here. However, maybe it can apply her also.

I see your point. I admit I have taken advantage of the fact that I'm anonymous by being rude a couple times, but I think it's good that somebody finally said what you said. :)

I agree with what you say in principle, but I would also like to call attention to the fact that correct spelling and usage are polite to readers, while incorrect spelling and usage are rude.

It's a good point you make, Mama Shirley, but these young people on Yahoo! Answers seem to enjoy being sarcastic with each other sometimes to a point where it seems like rudeness . It's nice to have you aboard. Take care of yourself.

I try to make a point in my answer to ask if the writer is a native English speaker. . .some are obviously not. Those I forgive.

However, the 'idiots' who insist of using text-eze here, (well, maybe they are not idiots. . .just younger than I am) are using incorrect spelling and are in the wrong forum for such spelling usage.

Keep text-eze on the phones, please, where it is acceptable. Thanks
