ok, so every1 knows that if a word begins with a consonant, u use the "a" (ex. "a door") and if a vowel, u use "an" (ex. "an apple") but i noticed (when i wrote a short story) these phrases:

1. he gave me "A Once-over" (it's a vowel and they use "a")
2. "An Honest opinion" (it's a consonant and they use "an" before it; while in other adjectives, like "a sarcastic opinion" u use "a" again)

how come? some1 explain?

its seriously joke, i meant, it kind of pointless right now. i mean, look at europe, the europeans can spoke in like 5 lanuagues, because of what they have learned when they were in elementary while we only learned, specifically one lanuague, which is english!

i think, we should open up in our education, instead of focus on one little things, such as general education.

i think we should allows students to choose of what they want to becomes, instead the classes that IS ONLY PREPARES them to go to college which our scholars thinks they "MUST GO TO COLLEGE, or bust" you know?

so i think no child left behind act is joke anyway, waste of our money.

What do you think of befriending a college teacher and writing a heartfelt letter about how you feel at the end of the semester? And also... she acts like she is my friend already in a way. My daughter is 4 years old currently having exam in her kindergarten. I did revision with her and I found that she can match the alphabet wih the pictures and small alphabet to capital alphabet. But I think she has a problwm in writing the sequence of alphabet in order. She knows her ABC but she cant when she writes it she just can't follow the sequence. is that normal or is she having some problem. But she writes it for numbers.It will helpful if any kindergarten teacher or mothers to comments.

I have been accepted into an excellent nursing school, to start in the fall. I am a 33yr old married mother of 2 living outside of the state where the college is, but the school is just 7 minutes from my home, and it does its clinicals and placements at the hospital where I would like to work.
Here's the problem. Being out of state, I get no state aid from either state, and after government sub & unsubsidized loans, I still need $11,500 per year to go to this college. I have been denied for alternative loans because my credit isnt so good. My father has had 2 massive heart attacks and a double bypass. My family's life changed in the blink of an eye. I have put all my money (ok, my husbands money also) into keeping my father alive-his meds are expensive and at this time he is getting no help paying for these. $800 per month. He was in CICU for 23 days, 30 miles away from home and I put the rest of my life on hold to be there for him every day.
