The Sick Rose


O Rose, thou art sick.
The invisible worm,
That flies in the night
In the howling storm:

Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy:
And his dark secret love
Does thy life destroy.

my class looked at the poem last year and was told it can be about how love can hurt you or the dangers of sex. in songs of inn and exp their are pairings, can't remember what the paired poem to it was but it would be a good link to bring in to your essay
