We have to write persuasive speeches for class and it's due monday, I'm unsure about what topic I should write about, does anybody have any ideas? It can be either serious or funny, but it has to be something arguable. Besides Abortion, affirmative action, juvienile offenders treated as adults, genetically modified organisms, poverty/welfare, violence in the media, guns, immagration, euthanasia, hate speech, anti-terrorist policies and civil liberties, gay rights, gambling, and medical marijuana. Those we are going to work with next year.

I just don't want to and I have my own personal reasons that I rather not get into right now. How can I convince my friends to leave me alone and respect my choice? They're all treating me like if I'm some kind of freak.

I am a high school senior who recently got into a combined 5 year degree for Bachleor of Science/Bachleor of Education at the University of Calgary. My initial career goal is to become secondary math teacher, howevery after hearing the horror stories about teaching at Y! Answers, I don't want teaching as my only option post graduation.

With that being said, my actual question is:

Will the Bachleor of Science degree open other doors for me?

The degree is called:

Bachleor of Education (Master of Teaching Program)
&
Bachleor of Science in General Mathematics in Education

Will the fact that the BSc has educational context in its matter if I was to pursue a proffestional career in buisness/finances.?

Do employers care what your Bachleor's Degree is actually in, or is it just seen as a level of education you aceived?

I'm not totally turned off by teaching, and still see that as a noble career.....for now.

Thanks for any help in advance

There is the deal: I would like to be a Business Lawyer or an Investment Banker, but I don't know which undergraduate major that I should take. Also, I would like to have 2-3 years in the area before going to graduate school, so what will be the best combo: Accounting (or Finance)+ MBA finance or Accounting(or Finance)+ JD. I feel that Accounting can serve me to go entry-level finance positions(Financial analyst) while finance major can't. Finally, which one is better for Graduate school?

You don't necessarily have to be in either field to give advice. I'm more interested in the career aspect of it. I love higher education, am on my second degree and quite frankly don't want to leave.
Would help if you could indicate which country you're in and what your field is. I'm presently in Australia.

I am a junior in high school and I was born deaf. I currently am enrolled in three AP classes of English, US History, and Biology along with Pre-Calculus and Competitive Speech and Debate. I have been involved in three clubs, high school softball the entire time, competitive softball and still keep up a 3.7 grade point average.

I am an aspiring journalist and wish to go to an University of California or an California State University after I graduate. Ever since my freshman year colleges have been chasing after me, and I already have narrowed it to a good list of five.

What worries me though is how college will get paid. My parents quit their jobs for six months just so we could get more family time, remodel the house, et cetera so therefore I will have to figure out how to get it paid.

Other than the Department of Rehabilition, do you know of any scholarships, grants, or a different form of financial aid that will pay for college in full, without me needing to repay?

Our professor informed us that if we complete our third exam with a B average, we are excused from the Final. I finished with a B average, but he has informed that I have to take the Final anyway because of too many absences. Firstly, I had several absences due to medical procedures, which I gave him proof of and which he made photocopies of for his records. With those squared away as excused absences, I would not be exceeding absences. Secondly, he has made out as if he is only adhering to the department's policy, but nowhere in the department's policy does it say anything that would lead him to have to force me to take the Final. Third, he tells me that the policy doesn't distinguish between excused and unexcused absences... so why did he insist on proof of my medical procedures so that they would be excused if they really aren't? I don't get it and I worked very hard to maintain a B average in this class. I feel that I'm being dealt with unfairly. Am I right or wrong?
