Your goals are good but you are thinking way to far into the future. You need to get your bachelor's degree and then IF you have the right grades and the right educational background you will apply for med school. Med school is another four years, allowed by years of residency. And if you want to specialize that is another couple of years.

Get your basic college degree, specifically taking classes that are math, science, etc.

There are a great deal of grants out there. Look into the WICHE program for professional that have a high need for graduates.

But for now finish high school, getting the best of all grades in academic subjects. And get a broad base of community experience, i.e., volunteer, if you want to get in one of the "better" universities.

Depends on your state. Go online and look up the major state universities for whatever state your in and look into the colleges they boast.

For example: Michigan

Michigan State University has 3 med schools:
Human medicine, Osteopathic Medicine (ranked 5th in the nation this year), and a Veternary school ( I believe is the finest in the U.S. and aims to stay that way)

Michigan University:
The world renowned Ann Arbor camus for human medicine

Wayne State University:
Human medicine School

They all have stellar undergrad programs, I just think MSU has got to be the most versatile choice not to mention 2nd largest in the world.

But a better value will be to stay in-state.

Good luck

I'd say just relax first. Take as much science as you can in high school. Maybe take Latin as a foreign language. Next get into the best university you can and continue to major in science or chemistry. Consult your advisor in college your freshman year about potential colleges for medical school and what requirements they have. Get excellent grades! I think around your junior year in college you'll take a huge test called the MCAT (lots of science on it) and depending on your score you will then apply to various med schools! Good luck. It's an excellent goal!

how good is your GPA, your activities?? if you can there is a school in chicago that you can actually get into the 6 year program, i believe you do 2 years of undergraduate and do the 4 year medical school afterwards, you get into the program then you don't have to go through the hell of applying to medical school.

look into that.. only if I knew before i went through the nightmare i would of applied in a heart beat, keep looking into programs of that sort. also there is a school something similar in boston as well.. I know for sure they have pharmacy program, it's not one of the ivy league, google the 6 year medical school program..

good luck! keep your options open and I would strongly suggest you volunteer at the hospital or shadow some pediatric MDs. my class was down 75% by the time I was in my 3rd year undergrad. remeber also that when you go to college you DO not have to be a science major to go to the medical school just need to to the pre-req. some medical school actually like people with degree in music/arts~!

a pair of my acquaintances desire to do drugs. i imagine the major issues they look out for is useless solid maths and technology. yet you would ought to do your a-tiers. My pal does biology and chemistry (and english lit) yet were given a B for biology so now she's both going to ought to resit to get an A or bypass in a diverse route careerwise. A-tiers are plenty harder than gcses so that you would ought to do **** a large number of revision. you bypass at a very quick %. so that you've gotta placed the attempt in.
