Accounting opens more doors. Finance CAN be hit-or-miss. If you're extreeemely intelligent with numbers and excellent with politics and people, take a gamble on Finance. Otherwise, Accounting is a golden degree.

New CPAs work 60+ hours per week during the early part of their careers. Financial analysts tend to work considerably less, but also ride the fence in terms of future earnings opportunities. Financial analyst doesn't guarantee big future earnings the way a CPA career does.

A Bachelor's of Arts in Accounting is a much better degree than its equivalent in Finance. The only exception are those select few in Finance who are absolutely brilliant and are handed sweet jobs in investment banking.
