If you got admitted into both, which would you go to? State your reasons plz. (pretend you have deicded to become an engineer).

Caltech is by far a better school than Berkeley when it comes to science and engineering. But Caltech isn't for everyone. Lots of pranks and unless you are a science nerd, it may be a bit difficult to fit in. Good research opportunities.

If you know definitively that you are going to major in something that is in the sciences or technical fields like engineering go to caltech, it is an incredible school.
However, if there is any possibility that you will change your mind go to Berkeley because then if you change your major you don't also have to transfer. If you are big into sports, Berkeley might be the choice for you as well because Cal is big in the pac-10 whereas Caltech isn't a big sports school.

Cal Tech looks better for engineering. I'd go there if that was my major.
