So there is a child in my fiances family who had the State Writing Test for 4th grade yesterday. He got a prompt and did not know what to write (I don't know why! since it was an easy prompt) so he only wrote about 5 sentences and nothing else. I'm not questioning that hes going to fail, I just wonder if he gets another chance to take the test or if he just fails 4th grade. Any teachers or anyone out there whos been in this situation that knows, please respond! Thanks!

I am doing an assignment for this college class of mine. It requires that I write a Tabloid and make it creative. I have to pick somethin' crazy like those magazines do... such as "BatBoy found in cave"... but that one sucks. I have a few in mind, but I like to see other's ideas, as well. I basically have to pick somethin' to write about, make sure that it ends up havein' a "joke" kick to it BUT treat it as if it were a real incident and I were really reporting it in a newspaper. My 3rd grade son was recently tested and the results were that he had a learning disability in written expression. He has a hard time with independent writing. For example, if you were to ask him to write a 1-2 paragraphs about his favorite sport he wouldn't know where to begin. He is also a poor speller and slow writer (which is part of his learning disability). When I go to his IEP meeting I want to know what accommodations I can ask for?

I LOVE reading, and writing. And I used to be able to read perfectly fine without any problems whatsoever. Now, about a year ago, I started getting words mixed up on pages in books, misreading the sentences and stuff. I do that alot now and I don't know why. Also, I used to be able to spell really big long words, without a problem. Now I have to use spell check when typing my stories and other stuff like that. =[. I don't like this. What's wrong? I'm 15 btw.

I have been an honors student for 8 1/2 years of the 10 years I have been in school. I used to make all As and a few B's until 8th grade, 3rd quarter. From there I began making Cs and I even got my first F this year in high school! The thing is, I used to care about when I made a grade that was low, and sometimes I even cry. Now it doesnt even phase me, it's like it is somewhat normal. Its close to the end of my freshman year in high school, and the most I can get is a 3.1 unweighted GPA and a 3.6 weighted GPA. Please help me, I really want to get back to the kid I used to be. It's been a year and a half of bad luck and I'm ready to make a recovery.
