My 16 YO daughter tried to sneak alcohol to her dad's house for the weekend and got caught on school grounds with it. She wasn't drinking, but had it in her possession. In addition, another girl that rides my daughter's bus saw it in my daughter's bag on the way to school and asked for some. My bright offspring proceeded to put some in a bottle provided by the girl. The girl drank it before getting off the bus and got sick once she got to school. With that said, my daughter was suspended for 10 days (currently on her 6th consecutive school day) and faces expulsion for up to two semesters.

I don't want my daughter to get off easy, but seriously, expulsion for a year? I grew up in the 80's - a time when the 10 day suspension would have been the maximum penalty. Anyone got any experiences or stories to share? Does anyone else think this is a bit excessive?

I am almost finished getting my B.A. I have experience in my field of study. I am in Religion and I am studying Hinduism and Buddhism in terms of modern devotion. I am learning Sanskrit right now. I tried replacing cos 2x with 1- 2sin^2x, and I keep getting -1 = 0. Is the answer no values?

I am writing a short monologue on a person who chooses not to believe in any religion, but its back in when religion was not an option, in greece in like 300 BCE How can it improve, what can I add?

Why do we act this way? Us humans, worshiping immortals and changing our ways to please them. Should I believe this nonsense? To be dragged around by this religion! Its unbelievable. I don’t have control of my actions or even my way of life. When I do something wrong why does that cause the gods to punish me or make me ill? Why don’t other Athenians feel this way? It’s absurd! I want to and I will be able to run my own life, so I will rebel! Against all the believers and their troubled minds! Show them that no longer should we be slaves to these gods. Pushed around by a fake idea… disgusting. As a child belief was so simple, it explained life to me. Everyone needs their minds to grow up just as their bodies. Grow up as I have, with a new understanding.

In particular, it would be nice to have some primary sources for gladiator battles, observations of conquered peoples, and descriptions of their technology and roads.
