I know that there is no way of knowing for sure, but do you think that 10 AP classes and a high GPA will allow me to get into most colleges? I'd like to hear from those of you who have been accepted in colleges already.

Sure, depending on what that "wide variety" is. If you mean a variety of public and private, more and less selective, research and liberal arts... those sorts of things, then you will. If you mean a "wide variety" of super-selective ivy league schools, then your hopes might be a bit too high.

You don't specify your GPA or SAT scores, so it is hard to judge exactly "where you stand" in terms of the BS impersonal numbers. But there are a lot of quality school that are less obsessed with impersonal numbers and more obsessed with finding students that fit with their institutional goals. Some are "alternative" schools (like the Evergreen State College in Washington) which give written evaluations instead of grades. These can be tough if you want to go to grad school after college. Other schools, like my alma mater - Pitzer College (in California) - do not require the SAT because it is not considered a good enough predictor of success in college, but are otherwise traditional schools with grades and stuff.

Long story short, yes, you will get into college. In fact, you will probably have choices. And that choice can be tough. But you should be excited, not anxious. If you've worked hard and you feel that you have a lot to offer a college or university, that will come through. Plus, if you have good numbers and AP classes, that can only help.

Good luck and best for your college years!
