I just finished doing a persuasive writing essay/speech for my English class... it can be awfully hard to choose, can't it?

If politics, wars, and religion are off-limits, I'd suggest chosing a "local" topic. Is there anything in your school or neighborhood that you would change if you were in charge? I'm guessing there is. This is also a good idea because you're more likely to feel strongly and know more about a topic that actually affects you.

There are some good books out there with lists of persuasive writing topics out there, too, so if you're completely stuck for ideas you can always check your local library.

Good luck!

I did mine on public smoking. Just choose something that you feel strongly about and go with that. Do you skateboard? Do you think kids should have freer access to public places to skateboard? Pick something you'd like to get off your chest and go with that. Good luck to you.
