I am currently a high school math teacher (in my 3rd year), and am highly considering a new career path. I have an engineering background, but do not really want to take that route again. Do you know of any career suggestions based on your own experiences? Do you know anyone who left teaching for another career and is enjoying it? What is that field?

I admit that teaching is tough to beat because you get a lot of time off, and the money to me is all right. It just turned out to be not for me.

Thanks for any constructive input that you can give me.

So after using yahoo answers along with others sources to obtain advise about the best medical career for me (sonography, nursing, etc.) I have decided to go with nursing. I already have a B.S. in Psychology and I am not making the money that I want to make. My plan is to go to a community college to get my Associates in Nursing, then after working for a year or two hopefully in an administrative type position since my Psych GPA was 3.4, go with an on-line program to get my Masters. I am thinking about taking a CNA class in order to work part-time while in nursing school and in order to be a little ahead of the pack when school starts. I graduated only a year ago and I have been in my field for only about seven months. Is this wise? Would I be better off waiting another year (2008) and trying to get into a direct entry program for nursing which will give me a MSN. It is too late to apply for this program for 2007. The problem with this would also be that I would have to move. Advice?

I'm reading an old book from 1901 and the author refers to an object as a brass "ditto". Does anyone have a clue what that might be? The word does not appear anywhere in the text with its usual meaning (repetition) so I think this is an old word that has dropped out of usage. Given the context it seems like it should be a sword, dagger, spear, or knife... has anyone heard of 'ditto' being defined in this manner?

Thanks in advnace for your ideas.

I'm a single mother of a young child and I work a full time 8-5 job. I want to earn a degree in human resources, but with my already jam packed schedule, attending classes will not work for me. I am concerned that I will put time and money into an online program/college to obtain a worthless degree. What online colleges/universities actually supply positively recognized degrees?
