What age is someone in the tenth grade?

In ireland school is something like this,its changed a lot since i was there.

Start primary school at 4
Babies(junior infants)
senior infants,
1st class(7yo)used be communion age
2nd class(8yo)new communion age
3rd class
4th class
5th class
6th class(12yo)confirmation age and entrance exam for secondary school

then kids move onto secondary school
1st year
2nd year
3rd year(group cert)optional,if you didnt do your group cert your inter cert year became your 3rd year and you didnt have to sit a 4th year
4th year(inter cert)
5th year
6th year(leaving cert)(18yo)

then college or university

I always hear on american shows about the 8th grade or the sixth grade and junior high and i dont know what any of it means,

and recieved them in the condition they were told to be in?? or does everbody just make their book sound like its in great condition just to get rid of it??

i bought four books on the internet from half.com and none were in good condition (folded covers, strong smoke smell, bent/written on/highlighted pages). all were advertised as great condition and like new! i couldnt believe it?!

HAS ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPEN?? or has anyone else sold a book under false conditions to get rid of it??

I am looking for methods on how to motivate teenagers. In specific I am looking from a teacher’s point of view and trying to seek some guidance in the tricky task of getting teenagers to be excited and enthusiastic about learning.

As a parent I am also looking for these same things.

Traditionally, you apply for admission into graduate school one year before you go, right? For instance, you apply in the early fall, find out if you are accepted in the late fall/early spring, and then attend the next coming fall. I will be graduating with my bachelor's in the winter of '08....do I still apply this fall?....instead of going to the graduate school in the fall, I would have to wait till the spring because I am graduating in the fall, get it? I can't apply in the spring semester (right after I graduate), because you can only apply in the fall, right? I know it's confusing...but please help if you know anything about the process!

I've got a 3.0 GPA in my second year of college...and from my understanding that's pretty bad for going for Pharmacy. After all, Pharmacy isn't something I necessarily have a real passion for, but I understand that job placement and the salary are awesome. So should I go for a different major or retake some of my previous classes to up the grades? Also, is Pharmacy worth pursuing?
