Calcium is the most important, but the bone also need phosphorus and magnesium
Phosphorus is a mineral that helps your body in processing vitamins and in the conversion of food into energy. It helps in bone formation.
magnesium helps to absorb the phosphorus. It also is an essential mineral to the human body. It is needed for bone, protein, and fatty acid formation, making new cells, activating B vitamins, relaxing muscles, clotting blood, and forming adenosine triphosphate (ATP; the energy the body runs on). The secretion and action of insulin also require magnesium

Sorry I only know half of your question, cant remember the second. Vitamin D is naturally produced in your kidneys which secretes calcitrol, which keeps strong bones from breaking. This is why elderly people have frail bones, because their kidneys do not function as well as younger people do, therefore, they have less calcitrol, and weak bones. Good Luck and God Bless.
