if you are asking just some course like photo shop and flash then you can take it.
but if you are talking about changing to software engineering then i think it will be hard for you to change your profession because you are saying that you are a graduate student.
but here's a thing---there was an article on yahoo a few days ago which gave an perspective on which field will grow the most in coming years.
and guess what? nursing industry will grow almost 48% in the next 10 years and software engineering will grow 25-35%, so you will probably have more chances to get a job as a nurse than as a software engineer. i dont think you would regret doing something more in nursing!

I really don't understand where you're coming from. Are you
telling us you went for 4-6 grueling years to become an R.N,
and now you want to chuck it all to take computer classes?
If you don't want to be a nurse, what do you want to be?
You can take computer courses and get a degree (such as
it is) for any profession you want. You do not need a
prerequisite. Your nursing degree will mean nothing towards
another profession, other than you had college credits.

Many teaching shops will make big promises, give you some useless training, take your money and give you diplomas. But when you try to earn money, it can be very difficult to get paying work.
If you are really interested in software, you can go to some suitable group on Internet, ask the knowledgeable members politely and get excellent training for free.
Best of luck

Dear,
There is no restriction as to who should do the software course,
as long as you have the knowledge to follow the course, you can follow it, start from the fundamentals and go , you will end up with P.G Diploma.
Good Luck
