Whenever my mom (her name is Anu) picks up the phone and the caller asks for Anu, my mom always says, "This is she."

I think it would be correct to say, "This is her."

Which one of these is right? Are there any other better ways to say it besides these?

(This is one page in a big packet)

I need to dissect a Hexagon into; 2 parts, 3 parts, 6 parts, 8 parts, 9 parts, 12 parts, 18 parts, 24 parts, and 27 parts. (Obviously the parts need to be congruent)

I have dissected it into 2 parts, 3 parts, 6 parts, 12 parts, 18 parts, and 24 parts. So I need help with dissecting it into 8 parts, 9 parts, and 27 parts.

A link would be GREAT, but a small explanation will also work. THANKS!

I read on someone's answer that the urdu word "paki" means clean, and when watching asian movies as a kid I remember them interspersing many english words within the dialogue.

This got me thinking - how would you say "clean pants" in urdu, assuming that pants translates to "pants" ?

could it be certain members of the Brittish population are correct in their postulations about us US citizens, generally speaking? Much of our population can't spell correctly, and now they can't seem to form whole sentences! What's up with that? This isn't snobbery on my part. It's concern. Or, most likely curiosity.

I started homeschooling my 1st grader about 6 months ago. We go on field trips and read many books. I have an elcectic curriculum that is easy to follow but I just cannot get my son to pay attention to me when we sit down together to "learn." When we start he says it is boring & he is not reading enough on his own that I can just give him assignments so I really have to sit and teach him. What can I do to help him get excited about learning? If we go to the zoo I will try to teach him about the animals, we read whatever we find but by the time we get home and report to Dad what we have learned for the day he always says he can't remember or just looks clueless. Is this normal?

“Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.”
-- C.S. Lewis

“The answers you get from literature depend on the questions you pose.”
-- Margaret Atwood

“The test of literature is, I suppose, whether we ourselves live more intensely for the reading of it.”

“Of course the illusion of art is to make one believe that great literature is very close to life, but exactly the opposite is true. Life is amorphous, literature is formal.”
-- Francoise Sagan

“Literature is the orchestration of platitudes.”
-- Thornton Wilder
