I love "To Kill a Mockingbird". My English class is reading that right now and I fell in love.

I can't be sure if this is accurate but I believe the argument is that Lee is using foreshadowing to help understand the actions of the characters. And three different statements including the three different characters are the three points of the thesis. I'm so sorry, I don't really have the background.
