could it be certain members of the Brittish population are correct in their postulations about us US citizens, generally speaking? Much of our population can't spell correctly, and now they can't seem to form whole sentences! What's up with that? This isn't snobbery on my part. It's concern. Or, most likely curiosity.

I thinks it's largely laziness combined with an overall lowering of standards.

I don't think, as a Britisher, that those from the USA who ask questions here are any more likely to ask them in an incomplete fashion, than any other nationality. It seems an endemic problem. I can only think that people either don't read what they have written, or think in their own minds that what they have said is sufficient to be understood by others, when in fact it isn't. There are, of course, also people who ask questions in English which is not their native language, presumably because they think they will get a wider range of answers.

I'm convinced that American youth (the only group about whom I can postulate) believe it is "cool" to use bad grammar (there is some research to indicate this is a way of identifying themselves as individuals...); this in combination with poor education and laziness results in the phenomena to which you're referring.
