My house is located in Taipei city; it’s an old but comfortable apartment. There is a park nearby, a post office and also a school. The neighbors here are not only friendly but also they are welling to help others. Here has no crime and no pollution. I know my house is old, but I never thought of moving, because I’m sure that you can’t find another place that is as friendly and decent like ours.

I've taken and retaken the Nat'l boards - and I always come up a few points short. I only want to retake one more time (duh...), and am wondering what to do about entries vs. assessment test modules. I've also heard it is really uncommon to receive over a 3 on almost anything... Comments? Advice? Your help is appreciated!

This is a poll of sorts. I'm interested in responses from international students who have studied beyond RIBA Part 1 level. I'm asking for responses ONLY from international students because of pertinent factors such as support (essential for such a demanding course) and economic issues (sorry, but fees of approximately 10k a year are serious determining factors for a course of this length and intensity).

I have had many international friends who were discouraged in droves due to their experience at architecture school. They weren't dim either, but architecture is a cultural phenomenon and culture differences should be taken into account. Now, should any of you good souls be so kind as to brave typing on the keyboard with all that caffeine pumping through your veins and making you all jittery...I'd appreciate it immensely.

What was your learning experience like? How supportive were staff/ tutors of the establishment? Let me know please.

Last year, I gave my Spanish I students a chance to take a pre-final with as many notes as they could find that were at least 50% in their own writing. I scored the things & gave them back to review before the actual final the next week, with a day to go over the most common errors I saw.

Also, this test had 50% of exactly the same questions as the final.

This year, however, we are crunched for time. The final exam testing time was extended, but this means that we have 2 fewer days for review. This means also a day less to get the pre-final graded AND to review major mistakes.

I have 3 days to work with before finals begin, but my Spanish I exams will be on Wed. and Thurs. of the next week.

My main question then breaks down into the following:
1 Do I let them use notes on pre-final? On the final?
2 Do I need to give back the pre-final before exams begin?
3 Do I GIVE a pre-final?

My final IS cumulative; I want them to be able to speak w/o notes, but they may need help recalling.

am a freelance writer who works for magazines but I'm tired of making peanuts and would like to take a course in copywriting. I'm considering sending away for the course offered by the American Writers and Artists Institute. it costs $507 and is said to be excellent. They even claim to help their "graduates" get copywriting jobs afterwards. Anyone out there finished the course and got a job through them? Any other at home copywriting courses you want to recommend? I have my first copywriting job lined up and I have no idea what I'm doing.

The high school students know the consequences, but yet they continue to choose the disruptive paths.
Do the students still need that attention to prove their self-worth?
Do the students find it more rewarding with the consequences?
What gains do the students feel like they are getting by getting into trouble?
Does it make the students feel better to be in trouble?
Is the classroom discipline and structure so unbearable that disruption is the only way out?
Are the US students too spoiled with too many choices? Should students be offered less choices?
What are the reasons?

I like to hear constructive comments, not just sarcastic remarks.
