Well i'm a senior in high school in desperate search of a major and career.
Is the myth that "everyone does psychology in college and its super hard to find a good paying job afterwards" true?
what career options are there for psychology majors that pay decently?

you can find a job in psychology. Especially at Mental Health Facilities

Psychology is a large major, but certainly not the only major people do. As for good paying jobs I'm sure many psychology majors get good paying jobs. However, I suspect most of them at the BA level are not in "psychology". At the undergrad level most majors are entry points into a profession or a liberal arts education into any field. To practice in psychology you will need an MA at a minimum and in most areas a PhD will be required. Depepending what you want to do an MA in counseling or in Social Work might be better options than an MA in psychology.

You're in high school yet, and you're worried about your major?! Dude, slow down... since it doesn't sound like you're going to choose your college based on your major, just take it easy. There are plenty of general education requirements to fufill while you figure it out!
I am a double-major, psychology and communication sciences/disorders. Psych is a great minor or dual-major companion to so many other fields. Even if you choose a different career path, you can feel confident in investing your time in psych classes. When you do get to college, find a good counselor who can tell you which psych classes will also count towards your general requirements, and ask around to find the best professors!

i am a psychology graduate..... with masters in clinical psychology. well.. here in my country psychology majors dont have the gigantic amount of salary...but it pays my bills....but there are many options you can choose from in working in different companies. i am now a full time youth counselor, i have been a Human Resource officer, guidance counselor in a school, teacher, etc. etc.
now a hotel in Dubai is offering me a job there as their human resourse head..... so good luck to you...i dont think it would be hard in college... just enjoy it and of course... study hard....

Psych is a good liberal arts based degree. You can go in many directions once you finish your bachelors and seek out a grad program; academia and education, admissions, advertising, business, communications, counseling, child care, community services, consulting, gerontology, government, human resources, labor relations, market research, media....
Its wide open once you have that liberal arts foundation.

School guidance counselor, hospital case worker, marriage counselor, court-appointed child advocate ... just to name a few.
