Have you tried contacting an exchange organization?

Youth For Understanding is good.

try www.casaswap.com

its a site for students who are going to study abroad to find a place to stay. u have to sign up.. but it's free and it might help. also try speaking to the university u are going to or to whoever is organizing your study abroad.

sometimes the easiet way to find housing is just to make friends at the place and rent out with someone or something.. u could also try newspaper ads for that city.

Try the "service organizations" like Lions Club, Rotary and similar ones in your area. They are often clearing houses for such things. Or church groups too, or missionary organizations.
