theres a word i cant remember what it is... it has to do with it being dark and foggy maybe... im thinkin it starts with M but im not so sure... i remember that its pronounced differently then how its spelled... can anyone help me?

i'm trying to write an intro and start off with a story (ancedote)
the sentence is
Every Saturday morning, I would lounge around in my pajamas and my hair looked like a tornado hit it.

THis sentence sounds horrible and i need more descriptive words to describe my hair and it sounds 3rd grade.
please help me

I'm not the smartest person when it comes to math but at least I know how to count back change and am amazed that if the cash register breaks, the cashier has no idea how to do this task. They rely upon a calculator. What if the battery dies in that too.
I was at the store today when this happened. The register was slow, and I asked him "do you not know how to count back change" , he said "It's early in the morning". We had another encounter, my husband had to tell him the amount of change, and another one, "she's just started here".
What's your view on this subject readers??

Am I the only one that thinks the three R's have gone by the wayside? Reading, Writing & Arithmetic.

Both my parents and stepdad graduated from UC Berkeley. Does that give me a better chance of getting into UC Berkeley as a freshman for the 07-08 school year?

I hope so, b/c my 3.7 GPA unweighted (4.15 weighted) and 2070 SAT scores are on the lower spectrum of UC Berkeley acceptance i think.

I must have taken the PSAT in 1986 and the SAT in 1987, or somewhere around there. I took both tests while attending St. Francis high school in Mountain View, Ca. After graduating in 1988 I went on to attend one year at New York University, but lived it up too much in NYC and forgot all about school, which led to my not being asked back for a second year.
