Around a month or so ago, my teacher, mother, school Principal, and I had a meeting surrounding a little incident. I am not going to go into detail what the situation was about, but ever since... she has been taking off a lot of points off of my essays, etc. For instance, on one of my assignments, we had to write an essay about so-and-so, and she takes off FIVE points off of my writing because ONE tiny mistake. My papers are absolutely flawless, but she finds the smallest issues, say like I put "me" in paragraph one. Because of that, she takes off another five points! On most of my assignments, I have received a low A (so I calculated), but I get my report card and it says, "C". What the hell? I only time that I got a grade lower than a A, was on my book report... which was a C.
What should I do? My mother thought after the meeting that I should change classes because she assumed that my teacher wasn't happy about the meeting. Help?!

This is exactly what it says:

One bacterial culture is 18 days older than a second bacterial culture. In 10 days, the first culture will be twice the age of the second. Use the verbal and the labels to write and solve an algebraic equation. Find the present age of the two cultures.

Verbal : Age of first culture in 10 days = 2 times age of second culture in 10 days

Labels:

x = age of second culture
x + 10 = age of second culture in 10 days
x + 18 = age of first culture
x + 18 + 10 = age of first culture in 10 days

I've been stuck on this prob for a while. It's only 7th grade math! Could anyone help?
