well, this was my question. Manage to answer what i learned, but stuck at the second paragraph.

We learnt how to understand artworks today. Basically, we have to understand the elements and priciples of art, to understand an artwork. By understanding this elements and principle, it can help us to understand a bit better on why the artist paint a certain way. But not only that, to help us understand much better on the artwork, we have to know who is the artist and his or her background. Sometimes, we have to understand the culture of the art. With the help of the arts origin and history, we can sometimes know why certain drawings are drawn in certain ways. Drawings in particular era changes in time. We have to consider the economic, social, religious and political factor too. The content too must be clear. Some artworks, such as modern art, have no subject or setting. When artists represent people, places, or actions, viewers must identify these to completely understand the work.

Universities and Colleges in this Country accept huge amounts of money from Countries such as Saudi Arabia to establish and teach Islam in the schools which is usually geared towards bringing more arabs and converting US students to this intolerant and hatefull religion. Should we allow our colleges and universities to accept this money? Don't we already pay enough in tuition to run our schools?

Well People we all know that a rapist should be taught a lesson by kicking, kneeing or crushing the bastard's usless testicles...But now Rapists have found a safer way to rape innocent women without taking much risk....I have seen in the news that a Rapist from India raped a woman and escaped cleanly...The victim(aged 21) said that when this man came close to her and grabbed her shoulder, she kicked his testicles as hard as she could but nothing happened to the rapist...later she came to know tht he was wearing a guard on his testicles....the rapist began taking control of her and when he realised that the woman cant reach his testicles, then he removed his guard and raped the innocent woman...The victim also said that he was wearing a mask....Now I am very much scared after seeing this news....Please people provide guidelines on how to deal with rapists who wear guards on their testicles?Any tip will be greatly appreciated....

The stick lizard is a tall tale, just like hoop snakes and jackalopes. Here is my question:
Does anybody know the Latin name for stick lizards?
For those who don't know, the stick lizard ranges in the high desert areas of Arizona and New Mexico. It gets its name from the fact that it carries a stick in its mouth. It is the only reptile that does its hunting during the hottest part of the day. When the desert floor becomes too hot, the lizard places the stick in a prairie dog hole and climbs up on it to cool off its feet.

Does anyone know of any research on language immersion programs and Montessori?

I ask because our daughter attends a new pre-school Montessori program that was originally planned to have a language immersion component.

There are three teachers in the school: one who speaks to the kids only in English, one just in Mandarin, one just in Spanish. And they had planned to have an after school (12:30-2:30 pm) immersion time, taught only by the relevant language teacher.

However, the folks running the school have decided that this approach goes against the Montessori method because children are not getting to choose which language to talk in during that immersion time.

However, we (and a number of other parents) feel that language is a very different animal from other subjects and that language immersion has such powerful benefits that it will be a real loss if the kids are able to opt out of it.

Anyone aware of research that would support either position?
