The stick lizard is a tall tale, just like hoop snakes and jackalopes. Here is my question:
Does anybody know the Latin name for stick lizards?
For those who don't know, the stick lizard ranges in the high desert areas of Arizona and New Mexico. It gets its name from the fact that it carries a stick in its mouth. It is the only reptile that does its hunting during the hottest part of the day. When the desert floor becomes too hot, the lizard places the stick in a prairie dog hole and climbs up on it to cool off its feet.

The proper latin name is Stickamus Arectumus, and it's not found in the high desert, it is found in the desert only if you are high.

This sounds more like Animal Planet than a joke. I guess everyone has their own level of humor. The joke's on you because we are getting easy points. Thanks!
