If you are so careful in your search, I think you must fear some confusing information will arise. Perhaps you know that Chinese is not always an exact language. In fact, China has many different languages and someone who was born and raised in Beijing, China may not understand much of anything spoken by someone who was born and raised in Hong Kong, China. This holds true for a dozen different regions of China, all speaking a different dialect that is unintelligible by people from any other region. What can you do? You must consider your reasons for and goals in learning to speak, write or read Chinese. If you want to communicate with the local people in one small region of China, you must concentrate on their dialect. But if you want a general education in reading, writing or speaking the most typical form of the official language of China, you must learn Putonghua, also called Mandarin. In most western countries, you will have difficulty finding a Chinese immigrant who speaks standard Manadarin. Most of the immigrants who left China departed from Hong Kong in southern China and did not speak Mandarin. This means that, unfortunately, most western countries do not offer very many Chances to learn Mandarin from a native speaker.

Your best bet is to question tutor applicants about their family origins in China. Did they live in northern or northeastern China where Mandarin is commonly spoken? If not, they may have second-hand knowledge of Mandarin which is better by far than my knowledge but not as good as that of a Beijing native.
