I am currently thinking about attending a private college. I was told that I would need my parents income tax to get financial aid (I am under 24). However, I do not have any contact with my parents and I would have no way of getting that information.
How can I get financial aid without their help?

Are children generally happier when they have to choose among fewer choices, or given no choice at all? From this question i came up with hypothesis. if you have too many choices then you can tend to get stressed out and wonder if you made the right choice among the millions of choices that you have. Just like the psychologists say that when you give children too many cereals to choose from, for example they will get very stressed out and unhappy

That is my hypothesis and i came up with independent variable and dependnt variable. Can you guys check if i came up with right stuff???

I think giving them no choices (independent variable) causes children to be happier then choosing from two different types of cereals where they can get stressed out and feel unhappy (depedent variable).

i have two reasons i'm posting this question, one, because i want to know if there are more single mothers out there who homeschool their kids. it's hard enough being a single mom but then to be your children's educator is even more difficult. also what does your ex think about that? is he/she supportive? my ex once told my daughter that she needs to go to real school. but when we were married, he would complain that American school were horrible and he supported my desire to homeschool. i'm guessing the fact his wife's children are in public school may be the reason. she may have talked him out of the benefits of homeschooling. and the second reason, i want to post my yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/christianmomshomeschoolretreat/

i am a sophomore currenty studying in state university of new york in albany and want to transfer to california state univeristy(now looking at fullerton). plus im an internationa student and want to major in german,,,but now i know that my university do not have a german major and i am sick of this weather as well etc. with all that i decided to try to transfer. is it gonna be "extremely harder" for out of the state students to transfer to college in california? i really want to get out of albany so bad.

What is an appropriate amount of homework for a 1st grader?

My son's teacher give assignments such the one listed below every night.

Copy each of your 10 spelling words 3 times each
20 addition fact worksheet
Write 3 asking sentences using your site words.
Review 25 site words
Read with your child

It takes us about 2 hours and sometimes more to get this done. I think that's too much. I know that school has change in the last 2 decades and is now more rigorous, but is this too much. He's exhausted and hates school and I'm starting to too.
