add the x coodinates and divide by 2 (takes the average)

add the y coordinates and divide by 2 (takes the average)

so:
-15 plus 17 = 2 Divide by 2, get 1 The x coordinate is 1

11 plus -2 = 9 Divide by 2 and get 4.5 The y coordinate is 4.5

So the midpoint is (1, 4.5)

halfway between the points. so x = (-15 + 17)/2 = 1 and y = (11 -2)/2 = 4.5

co-ordinates of mid point are (x1+x2)/2, (y1+y2)/2
in this case co-ordinates of mid point are (-15+17)/2,{11+(-2)}/2
(2/2,9/2)
(1,9/2)
