My friends and I are looking for cheap and good restaurants in Vancouver which have great atmosphere and are full of character. Any suggestions? We always seem to end up at White Spot or Earls and it's driving me crazy just knowing how much I'm missing out on in this city of awesome food.

I have a friend who works at burger king, and the stories he tells me are absolutely repulsive. He has spilled windex on burgers, dropped lettuce on the floor, and done many other disgusting things I wish not to speak of.
