They appear to be a race constantly happy and living off a diet of breadsticks and watery soups and salads and constantly changing pasta dishes.

I would guess that they were Italian but I am unsure if they are a race of people who only eat at the Olive Garden. Any thoughts?

I know all the bad things about it; I want to know what the parents are thinking ?! I'm a grandma & I have decided to avoid eating out with my children/grandchildren because even tho' I have told both of my children that I think it's dangerous, they continue to allow their little kids to do it. It's not just dangerous for the kids, it's dangerous for the waiters & the other patrons, who might get something hot spilled on them. It's also irritating for the other patrons. Not to mention, it's embarrassing for me. If someone got burned or hurt, my adult kids could apologize til tomorrow & it won't take away the pain caused by their being so inconsiderate.

It seems as though every midwesterner I talk to seems to hate shellfish and other seafood. Wherever I go in the Midwest, from Iowa to Illinois to Indiana, South Dakota, Michigan and even Ohio, people here are afraid to eat seafood.

The funny part about that is they would rather eat crap like tater tot hotdish (Casserole to those outside the upper Midwest) and fattening mashed potatoes and gravy than shrimp, fish or even crab legs.

Midwesterners: Seafood won't kill you. In fact, try it sometime. You might even like it.

What does Chick-fil-A put on thier chicken sandwiches & chicken nuggets that make them so darn good. I'm guessing it's in the breading, and it just beats any other chicken sandwich that I've ever had and I know several people that will say the same thing.
It's probably a big secret, just wanted to know if anyone had any ideas and/or suggestions. Thanks!

In europe and in Japan, there is no such thing as tip. Why? because you're paid to DO YOUR JOB. When eating out..do you NOT expect to receive good service? and at 15%..when combined w/tax...your paying 25% more for your meal.
A tip should be what it was, extra $ for superior service. If a waiter is always on top of getting your drinks and checking on your food etc... they deserve a couple extra bucks...but if a friend orders a $20 meal and I order a $100 meal..why do I owe $15 and my friend only $4...for the same service (the server didnt cook my meal).
There is an argument that waiters get most of their wages in tips..if it's unfair..quit. and if they do...and you don't get tipped enough to cover minimum wage, by law the employer must pay the difference up to min wage. and If that happens, you probably have poor customer service. There are plenty of jobs just as hard if not harder that never see tips: i.e. dish washers, retail, garbage men. Smile & do your job, or quit.

My boyfriend and I went to the Roadhouse Grill recently. Their "thing" is that there are buckets of peanuts on every table. However, there is no place to put the shells, so everyone just throws them on the floor. Also, it doesn't look like anyone sweeps the place often. This, to me, is disgusting. It's like they're asking for rats and roaches. I complained, and I got this response in an email: "Thank you for the information. You will probably always find peanuts on our floors, we tried putting out extra buckets but for most, that was the fun of Roadhouse Grill." I looked it up online, because that just seemed so odd to me, and the Roadhouse Grill isn't even the only restaurant that does this. What do you think? Does a floor full of peanut shells add charm to a restaurant, or does it gross you out as well?
